Having spent a couple of hours chatting to Euan this evening I was feeling a little maudlin. We have such similar humour that talking to him only goes to underline the fact that I miss him – as he was proud to establish tonight, he does actually make me LOL, as I do him! So, in a maudlin mood I dropped Jess an email which ended with the immortal phrase “I think I need a gin”.

And so it is that I have just sent the following follow-up email:

…gin really takes the edge off.
