Last night I had the girls round to trial run our 1930s hair styles. I made them goody bags with Elnette hairspray, bobby pins, vintage 30s wave clips and a few other bits and pieces in (make up, perfume samples etc) and made retro food including old fave of mine, potted shrimp, and a very interesting (and quite delicious!) cake made with a can of condensed tomato soup and “philly vanilly” frosting. We drank fizz, half-watched Atonement and gossiped relentlessly… it was great fun!
