Muddled

I’ve just been made redundant. Rather Completely unexpectedly. I’m still in shock right now – my mind feels like my basket of Toesles, kinda squishy, muddled and messy. Guess I’d better start selling these babies!

  1. I am so sorry. That has happened to me 3 times, it is always a shock and always horrible and WHY they do it right before holiday season is BEYOND me, but they always do. Good luck. XOXO

  2. I’m sorry to hear that Caroline. It’s hard news to take, and the unexpected nature of it can’t have helped. If there’s any justice in the world you’ll get a job that lets you use your creative and writing talents.

  3. Hello Caroline,

I’ve been following your blog for ages and have never commented before, but thought I would today.

I’m really sorry to hear of your news, I’ve been made redundant before and it’s a bit rubbish really. On the positive side, sometimes it can work for you. I lost my job when a newspaper I worked at as a journalist when bust. Now I’ve got a job that I prefer and I honestly don’t think I’d have took that step unless I was pushed.

    Take care, Anne XXX

  4. Same as the above – I haven’t commented before but I’ve been reading your blog for ages – I think you’re amazing!
I’m so sorry to hear about this, but hopefully it will turn into a great opportunity for you. Time for toesles to take over the world! 🙂 xxx

  5. Oh , I’m so sorry to ear that.Is there anything I can do?
Maybe this was for the best, I’m sure you will find a much better and fulfilling job.I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
    xoxo

  6. Well that is awful! I am so very sorry to read this news. I sure hope you find another position that you love even more.

Where would one go to buy one of your cute creations? I’m thinking baby Archer probably needs one.

    Wishing you all the best!

  7. I’m so sorry to hear that – I suppose “bummer” (or any other similar word) doesn’t even begin to cover it. I know you’ll find another position soon – I mean, who wouldn’t snap you up in a heartbeat?!

Chin up, and you’re always welcome at ours!

  8. Oh Cie! I’m so sorry to hear that my lovely. I feel like typing some hardly publishable expletives on your behalf – but I’ll save your blog the shame and just shout them instead.

If there is anything at all that I can do – even it’s just to have a kind ear to vent to, then you just have to ask.

Thinking of you & much love,
    A x

  9. Oh how rubbish! I’m so sorry to hear that (are they mad? You’re fab!) I have no doubt that something else (and better) will come along soon enough but right now I doubt its much fun. In the meantime though I’m sending my best wishes and hugs from the freezing north!

  10. Hi Caroline,

I’m so sorry to hear your news. I don’t know about freelance work, but a friend of mine is involved with running craft fairs in Birmingham – maybe they would be a good place for you to sell your toesles? Their website is http://www.creativeopenworkshops.com and my friend’s name is Denise – it might be good to have something creative to do while you’re looking for something else?

    All best wishes,

    Roisin xxx

  11. Thank you all so much for your comments – y’all make my blogging worthwhile! And I know you’re all there for me – every one of you who has commented.

Anne, Shereen, English Rose, thank you for breaking your silences! 😀 It’s always great to hear from my regular readers. xx

Amy, thank you my lovely for your letter – it really made me smile when I got home yesterday, and the etsy tips are great. 😀 As for the expletives – yell lots out loud on my behalf! xx

Roisin, thanks so much for this. I didn’t realise you worked for the QCDA – I’d actually quite like to work there! Sadly don’t have the technical experience for this job, but will keep my eyes peeled. And I’ve been in touch with Denise – quite excited at the prospect of a stall with cow in December!
